Who We Are

Michigan FishingMichigan Anglers Association (MAA) is an independent, non-profit group of sportsperson dedicated to the protection, enhancement, promotion and enjoyment of Michigan’s unparalleled fishing opportunities. Organized in the mid 1970’s as the Muskegon Chapter of the Michigan Steelheaders, MAA separated from the larger group and formed its own organization, Michigan Anglers Association, on April 3, 1996.

MAA participates in a variety of fishing-related events from big lake to river fishing, intended to foster friendship and promote the joys of fishing and good sportsmanship to today’s youth. We participate in activities to preserve and improve the Michigan ecosystem, assist in research of factors affecting sport fishing, and promote public education related to sport fishing and environmental conservation.
